The BJF Group has won another new project for our longstanding client the Ministry of Defence, to replace and install a new roof including the associated M&E installation for the Sir John Moore Barracks canteen building in Folkestone, Kent.
The Construction and M&E divisions will be building a new Roof and installing Air Handling Unit plant for the Main Kitchen Junior Ranks Mess at Sir John Moore Barracks, Shorncliffe. The award comes from Amey Defence Services with a Value of circa £1.6m.
We are now set to commence the design development process on this project whereby we will be replacing the roof finish (designed cut to falls and three ply system) and structure to three separate roofs to the Junior Ranks Mess and associated Stores. We will also be replacing all the currently situated roof mounted mechanical plant, AHU and associated ductwork etc. along with replacing the Building Management System and all electrical upgrades required in association.
We commenced site activities on this project in late Jan 2019 and expect the project to last around 30 weeks.
