Boutique Care Homes has officially broken ground on its latest project, Martello Manor, a state-of-the-art care home situated in the picturesque town of Hythe, Kent. The ceremony, held on 3rd December 2024, marked the start of construction on what is set to become a landmark addition to the local community, providing high-quality care in a purpose-built environment.
The event was attended by representatives from Boutique Care Homes, RM Design Group, and BJF Group, as well as distinguished guests, including the Right Worshipful Town Mayor of Hythe, Councillor Penny Graham, and Dudley Shipton, Chairman of the Hythe Dementia Awareness Forum.
Speaking about the significance of the project, the Right Worshipful Town Mayor, Councillor Penny Graham, shared her excitement. “What an interesting and delightful occasion it was — far more so than I imagined! I came away with an excited buzz about Martello Manor, for what it will offer residents, for the aspirations to develop strong links with the wider community, and the quality jobs at all levels for local people that are much needed and very welcome. I do think that a brand-new, purpose-built, and family-run care home will be a great addition to complement Hythe’s excellent, established care services. The team were all very positive, charming, and helpful, and I’m looking forward to the opening and taking a tour!”
Martello Manor is set to feature 66 ensuite bedrooms, each combining style and comfort, along with facilities designed to enrich residents’ lives, including a bistro, elegant lounges, a hobby room, landscaped gardens, and an in-house hair salon. This thoughtful design reflects Boutique Care Homes’ mission to provide exceptional care in environments that foster wellbeing and connection.
Carl Roberts, Associate Sales & Marketing Director at Boutique Care Homes, emphasised the collaborative nature of the project: “We are thrilled to begin the Martello Manor project and to welcome Cllr Graham and Mr Shipton to the site to introduce our vision. We committed to delivering high-quality care in a home that will also be a true asset to Hythe. We look forward to creating not only a beautiful care home but also a hub that brings people together and supports residents, families, and the local area.”
Dudley Shipton, Chairman of the Hythe Dementia Awareness Forum, echoed this sentiment, expressing his gratitude and optimism for the development. “Many thanks for inviting me to the groundbreaking ceremony and for the hospitality. It was a pleasure to meet with the directors and builders involved in the development. It will be a great asset for the Hythe Dementia Awareness Forum and the community.”
The project’s success so far is the result of seamless collaboration between Boutique Care Homes and their project partners. Paul Newstead, Construction Director at BJF Group, reflected on the importance of working in partnership. “BJF Group is delighted to have been appointed by Boutique Care to deliver this exceptional development. Our Pre-Construction team has worked seamlessly with the client’s team to ensure the project is ready to progress on-site. Throughout this process, it has become evident that our client’s goal of providing outstanding care aligns closely with our commitment to delivering the highest quality facility, a home future residents will truly be proud of.”
As the first steps of construction take shape, Martello Manor is already making its mark as a project built on collaboration, care, and community. Boutique Care Homes looks forward to seeing this vision come to life, providing a home where residents can thrive and remain deeply connected to the Hythe community.
