A team of intrepid explorers from across the BJF office recently completed the Three Peaks Challenge raising a fantastic £3,500 for two charities.
The gruelling trek, taking place over 24 hours involves climbing the three tallest mountains in Wales (Mt Snowdon), England (Scafell Pike) and Scotland (Ben Nevis). Overall the team covered 23 miles and a total ascent of 3064 metres.
Half of the money went to Mia May’s Movement through the Tree of Hope charity to support the costly physiotherapy needed to help Mia achieve her dream of walking one day.
The other half went to the Young Lives Foundation and will be spent directly on front line services to support disadvantaged and vulnerable young people in Kent.
The importance of giving back where we can is a key part of the BJF philosophy and is something that we actively encourage throughout the business. Other recent initiatives have included a Macmillan coffee morning in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support and a few of the BJF guys growing Movember ‘taches.
