Following the successful completion of a major boiler house refurbishment in 2019, BJF Group’s Mechanical and Electrical Division has been retained again to carry out a second similar project at Denison Barracks on behalf of Amey for the Ministry of Defence.
The first phase of the circa £500k project will see us completely strip out all of the plant that has reached the end of its asset life. Following this we will be replacing infrastructure with more modern, efficient alternatives, most notably two Oil Fired 500KW Hoval boilers, a new 13.5m flue, replacement heating and hot water circulation pumps, new hot water plate heat exchangers and a new BMS and control systems.
This project will see us employ a number of modern methods of construction including 3D Revit modelling with our design partner Hawden MEP Ltd and offsite manufacturing both of which were used to great effect on the previous boiler house project.
Stephen Chapman, Head of M&E at BJF Group Said:
“We are delighted that the professionalism and expertise within our M&E division has been recognised by both Amey and the MoD, we very much look forward working with them to deliver another fist class facility on this project.”
