BJF Group’s Mechanical and Electrical team have completed energy performance upgrades at Dulwich College.
With a history which dates back over 400 years and a host of well-known alumni, Dulwich College is a highly prestigious educational establishment.
Working within and above the kitchens of the Christison Hall, our engineers completed an eight-week project to replace four supply AHU’s and associated extract ventilation. We also replaced the existing gas proving system to ensure current and future regulatory compliance.
The project’s duration was less than 8 weeks including craning off the existing AHUs and reconfiguring the roof mounted steelwork to accommodate the new system.
The newer equipment now in place is significantly more energy efficient, due to the installation of Electrically Commutated (EC) Fans which consume far less energy than AC alternatives. The electricity usage of an EC fan is relative to the speed at which it is running whereas AC fans use almost full power no matter their speed.
BJF Group’s M&E team are well-versed in working within live and complex environments such as educational establishments.
