BJF Group has secured their largest contract award to date having been awarded a major new Ministry of Defence Hard Facilities Management Contract by VIVO Defence Services, a 50:50 joint venture between leading FM specialists EQUANS and Serco, covering three areas in the South West of England.
Following a mobilisation period which included the retention of over 90 jobs following transfers into BJF Group, the contract goes live in February. The core element of the works is worth millions of pounds per year and combined with the high volume of expected project works this is BJF Group’s largest contract win to date.
The Future Defence Infrastructure Services (FDIS) contract was awarded in June 2021 with VIVO Defence Services securing the two largest of the four available regions – South West and Central. In total, the core value of the contracts for these regions is worth an estimated £895m. In addition to providing core maintenance, the contracts will support the delivery of up to £2.5bn of additional works.
We will be delivering planned and reactive maintenance as well as major and minor project works across a broad range of asset and property types on sites including MOD Lyneham, HMS Collingwood, HMS Excellence and Bovington Camp.
Barry Foster, Managing Director at BJF Group said:
“This significant contract award represents a major achievement not just for our Facilities Management Division but the BJF Group as a whole.
The team has proven their abilities by delivering thousands of reactive jobs per year as well as millions of pounds of minor and major projects across MOD sites in the South East and we are looking forward to bringing our skills, knowledge and expertise to the South West.
We are looking forward to partnering with VIVO Defence Services to deliver a high standard of service across the contract”
Scot Walsh, Head of Facilities Management at BJF Group said:
“I am immensely proud of the team who have put in a huge amount of hard work to get to this point and we cannot wait to go live at the start of February.
We are delighted to be working in partnership with VIVO Defence Services to maintain and improve the estates on which our much-valued Armed Forces and their families live, work and train.
From the start of our engagement with VIVO Defence Services their integrated, collaborative approach has set the scene for an excellent working relationship going forwards.”
